Valerio Piccolo and Davide Napoleone will present their AmericaNApoli project, which reimagines Neapolitan standards with a country touch, on September 18th during Americanafest in Nashville. Founded in 2000 by a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the Americana music genre (an alternative country genre with deep roots in tradition), the festival, with its 20 venues and six concurrently operating stages, has quickly become one of the major hubs for Americana music. This year's festival runs from September 15th to 19th, and AmericaNApoli, a project by Valerio Piccolo and Davide Napoleone, will be the first Italian concert hosted by the Nashville Festival. With AmericaNApoli, the artists give the great masterpieces of the Neapolitan heritage a country touch. Their journey is similar to that of Dean Martin, Elvis Presley, and others in the 1950s and 1960s: they sang great Neapolitan classics in English, whereas Valerio and Davide reinvent those classics in a country version and sing them in Neapolitan, possibly the only regional language known and recognized around the world.
