Using social media while serving a house arrest sentence has cost Mario Adinolfi his freedom, as the politician and activist has now been transferred to a prison cell. His precautionary custody measure was tightened after authorities confirmed he violated the terms of an ordinance that, since last July, required him to remain inside his home and abstain from specific restricted activities. The new enforcement order was carried out by financial police officers from the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza in Rome, acting on behalf of the Public Prosecutor's Office. Adinolfi's online activity on social platforms - a form of communication explicitly forbidden under his detention terms - triggered the stricter ruling. This latest development comes amid a broader judicial proceeding in which Adinolfi faces serious charges, including aggravated and continuous fraud, unauthorized financial investment activities, and failure to file tax returns.
