Following reports of George and Amal Clooney’s interest in a property in Capri, another iconic residence is attracting attention in the luxury real estate market. This time it is the historic villa on Rome’s Appian Way, which was the setting for the love story between Sophia Loren and Carlo Ponti. Architect Andrea Busiri Vici created the home, which is located in Europe's largest urban park. The 700-square-meter, multi-level property also includes a Roman-era cave with an authentic Medusa mosaic in the dining room. The interiors feature three living rooms with fireplaces, a library, a conservatory, five bedrooms, and seven bathrooms. The exterior includes nearly a hectare of parkland as well as the ancient stables, which have been turned into an event area measuring 467 square meters. The property was already listed for €19 million in 2018 and is now being managed by Italy Sotheby's International Realty under exclusive negotiations. The estimate ranges between €15 and €20 million. According to Clemente Pignatti Morano of Sotheby's, the home's strength stems from its unique combination of history, architecture, landscape, and archeological artifacts. It's a one-of-a-kind property for international purchasers looking for a lasting legacy.
