A limit on the number of foreign students per class, a ban on burqas and hijabs in schools, and a requirement for parents of students experiencing significant integration difficulties to learn Italian. These are the primary modifications to the bill currently before the Council of Ministers, as stated by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on stage at Fenix, the National Youth Festival. Regarding religious symbols in schools, the Prime Minister reiterated a hard stance: gender equality is unavoidable, and lessons must be attended with uncovered faces, with no exceptions based on actual or perceived traditions. Aside from the educational issue, Meloni addressed two major issues with emerging technology. Concerning misinformation and artificial intelligence, she warned of the dangers of manipulation ahead of the approaching election campaigns, urging citizens to verify the content circulating online. Finally, the Prime Minister refuted the opposition's charges of a restriction on the social media moratorium for minors, stating that the government's choice was to allow for legislative debate. Meloni underscored that platforms must bear the primary responsibility for combating addiction, cautioning against age verification systems that rely on identity documents due to the potential for mass profiling.
