Artissima, the worldwide acclaimed contemporary art fair now in its 33rd edition, is eagerly anticipated in Turin on October 30th. There will be 183 galleries from 35 countries and four continents, 66 monographic projects, and 37 newly established galleries exhibiting in Turin. The majority of exhibitors are international, with a shift toward the east, with galleries from Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and China, as well as exhibitors from Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, and the United States, and a European representation that includes France, Germany, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and Eastern Europe. The event's tagline, "Fancy: A Flexible, Acrobatic Body", is based on American philosopher Martha C. Nussbaum's views. A major new feature will be "The Curators’ Choice": Artissima is inviting around 15 European museum curators and directors, aged between 30 and 40, selected from a generation taking on positions of responsibility at institutions across the continent. They will visit the fair and each will officially highlight one gallery whose work has particularly impressed them.
