During the Italian restaurant industry's summer, international tourists accounted for 16% of reservations, while Italian tourists accounted for 23%, an increase from 2025. Data from TheFork, a prominent restaurant reservation platform, verified the sector's significance as a fundamental component of the Italian travel experience and a chance for socializing and discovery for those lodging in the city. Among the major findings, Rome, Milan, Turin, Florence, Naples, and Palermo stand out as cities driving demand, while the province of Lecce joins the top ten most booked places. Furthermore, throughout the summer, people dine later: reservations after 8:00 p.m. increase by 55% to nearly 70%, with the 9:00 p.m. time slot seeing the biggest increases. In this sense, Italian, pizzeria, and Mediterranean cuisine are the most popular dining options, followed by seafood restaurants. So, once again this summer, Italy's restaurants have won over both Italian and foreign tourists.
