Leonardo, a world leader in helicopter manufacturing, has started the "Growing Together" industrial program to enhance its supply chain in Italy. The program engages hundreds of Italian enterprises (numbers stated at various stages of the project range from about 170 to over 800) in the design and manufacture of components for the group's civil helicopters. The goal is twofold: first, to improve the national industrial and technological legacy and the excellence of Made in Italy, and second, to reduce reliance on foreign suppliers by bringing the manufacture of components now acquired abroad back to Italy. Leonardo collaborated with numerous regional administrations to develop the project, and agreements have already been reached in Veneto, Lombardy, and other parts of the country. Access to prospective suppliers worth €1.3 billion is one of the chances for Italian companies, with a growth rate of up to €1.7 billion expected by 2028. Leonardo provides technical and financial support to the SMEs involved in navigating the complicated qualification and certification processes required by the aerospace industry.
