Rome transforms into an international film destination at the start of each autumn: the atmosphere of the Rome Film Fest and Alice nella Città, the festival directed by Fabia Bettini and Gianluca Giannelli, which will take place from October 13th to 25th and puts young people at the forefront of its program, pervades the capital's theaters, streets, and evenings. This year's lineup includes two big American performers: Susan Sarandon, known for her roles in "Thelma & Louise" (1991) and "Rocky Horror Picture Show" (1975), will attend the screening of "The Accompanist" (2026), in which she stars. In addition, the Oscar-winning actress will be honored with the 2026 Womenlands Excellence Award. Jeremy Renner, the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Hawkeye, will also attend the festival and provide a workshop on acting. This year, Alice nella Città's film selection will focus on the sensitivities, challenges, and views of younger generations, allowing them to see themselves on screen while also experiencing icons of international cinema firsthand.
