High fuel prices are influencing family behavior. Some 43% of Italians have reduced their use of cars or cut back on travelling, while 32% say they have cancelled or scaled back trips and holidays. The consequences further affect household administration and daily expenses: 33% have restricted the use of heating or air conditioning, 28% have reduced their food expenditures, and 24% have restricted their appliance usage. Looking ahead to the coming months, the data shows that 71% of families intend to cut certain expenses: 62% mention outings and leisure expenses, 54% energy consumption, 53% travel and non-essential transportation expenses, 53% clothing and accessories, and 52% travel and vacations. In addition, 27% intend to decrease their expenditures on food, while 19% intend to decrease their health expenses, including dental care, checkups, and ordinary medical visits.
