According to a Department of Public Administration survey of more than 8,000 public employees, 75.2% already use artificial intelligence technologies, and 80% believe they are effective for automation and data analysis. Paolo Zangrillo, Minister of Public Administration in Giorgia Meloni's government, announced the numbers. The true challenge, according to the minister, is determining how to manage this tool. The Italian government's strategy is founded on two assumptions: AI must serve as a support system, but people must retain accountability. According to a poll performed by the Department of Public Administration, more than half of public employees received artificial intelligence training in the previous year, mostly through institutional channels. "Those who receive training", Zangrillo said, "report tangible benefits, becoming more proactive and able to recognize the usefulness of the tools".
