In 2025, the overall revenue of the Italian nautical industry - pleasure boats, accessories, and engines - was €8.72 billion, up 1.4% from the previous year. Employment is also increasing: the number of full-time employees reached 32,420, up 3% from 2024, while the total maritime supply chain employed roughly 170,000 people. The nautical industry contributes €7.51 billion to Italy's GDP, which is equivalent to 3.32 % of the national GDP. The figures were presented at the 66th Genoa International Boat Show, opened by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. The international vocation is one of the fundamental distinguishing features of the Italian maritime sector. In 2025, shipbuilding exports accounted for 90% of production, while export value reached a new record of €4.4 billion, up 2.6% from 2024. Italy accounts for 21.3% of global exports. The superyacht segment exemplifies international leadership: Italy continues to dominate the globe in orders, with 568 units, accounting for 52% of the total.
