An international drug trafficking ring has been dismantled by the Financial Police in Varese, leading to the seizure of 19 kilograms of cocaine, 49 kilograms of marijuana, and smaller quantities of hashish, heroin, LSD, and ecstasy. The total market value of the confiscated substances is estimated to exceed five million euros. Three individuals have been arrested: a Spanish couple aged 55 and a 34-year-old Italian resident of the province. The investigation was initiated following the surveillance of a Spanish-plated camper and a Fiat 500 to a wooded area in the Varese region. There, officers observed the transfer of a large bag containing bricks of cocaine, some branded with the Superman logo. Subsequent searches revealed a disturbing trend of "criminal marketing." Part of the cocaine had been mixed with methamphetamines and artificially flavored with strawberry, grape, coconut, and melon to make the product more recognizable and appealing on the illicit market. In addition to the drugs, authorities confiscated multiple weapons - including a taser, a machete, and a baseball bat - alongside 6,600 euros in cash. Watson, a small dachshund traveling in the camper, was temporarily taken into custody by financial police before being placed with a foster family.
