Marcus Thuram discovered a novel way to pass the time away from international soccer: pretending to be another player. The French Inter Milan striker, who was not selected for the national team for the Nations League, spent a few days in Milan and Paris, shopping and relaxing. In Milan, however, he pulled a joke that was bound to make headlines. On Via Montenapoleone, the famous luxury shopping street in the heart of the city, he was stopped by several people who asked him who he was. Wearing a green sweatshirt, hood and bandana, he replied without hesitation: "I’m Leão, a player. Rafael Leão from Galatasaray". The reference was to Rafael Leão, a Portuguese striker who played for AC Milan, Inter's longtime rival. Thuram chose a player from the opposing team for his stunt before riding away on an electric scooter.
