Pope Leo XIV will return to Assisi for the closing ceremony of the event organised by the Community of Sant’Egidio. The official announcement of the visit occurred during the press conference for the presentation of the international meeting "Disarmed and Disarming Peace". The event will be held from October 25th to 27th, celebrating the fortieth anniversary of John Paul II's establishment of the World Day of Prayer for Peace in 1986. The event will unite 384 representatives of institutions, cultures, and religions from 53 countries. Peace, prayer, the economy, conflicts, children and youth, the media, migration, disarmament, humanity, Christian unity, dialog between the shores of the Mediterranean, the poor, and contemporary martyrs will be the subjects of discussion in the 24 thematic forums, which will be led by 155 speakers. The Pope will visit Saint Francis on the final day of the event, October 27, when a prayer for peace will be held. Other religions will worship simultaneously in 13 locations near the Sacred Convent, each following their own traditions.
