Decades after breathing life into some of cinema’s most unforgettable creatures, legendary Italian special effects wizard Carlo Rambaldi is cementing his permanent place in Hollywood history. Rambaldi, who passed away in 2012, will be honored with the 2,860th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame during a ceremony at 1611 Vine Street.
His daughter, Daniela, is scheduled to unveil the plaque alongside industry figures and family. Celebrated globally for his groundbreaking animatronics that defined E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Alien, and King Kong - earning him three Academy Awards - Rambaldi’s imaginative genius bridged the golden eras of Italian art-house cinema with Hollywood blockbusters under directors like Steven Spielberg and Ridley Scott.
