Those dreaming of sailing between Venice, Trieste and the Croatian coast have a new destination to consider. D-Marin, an international business that specializes in high-end marinas, has announced the purchase of Porto San Rocco Marina Resort in Muggia, near Trieste. Italy is becoming a strategic destination for the firm, with D-Marin expanding its activities from one marina in 2023 to nine now, making Italy its largest marina market. The port's location is peculiar, as it is three miles from Slovenian waters and 18 miles from Croatian waters. It has 546 berths for yachts ranging from 8 to 60 meters and offers the atmosphere of a coastal resort, complete with a hotel, restaurants, swimming pool, fitness center, and conference room. There is also a hint of grand Italian architecture: the marina is situated within a pedestrianized village that was designed by the renowned architect Luigi Vietti, whose work is also associated with the Costa Smeralda.
