It was a rare opportunity for those who are captivated by Italian design to gain a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes world. For two days, architecture studios across Italy welcomed members of the public, professionals, institutions and the media. The 2026 topic, "Shared Architecture", aims to present enterprises as locations for discussion rather than just workplaces. The initiative has a strong foundation: the National Council of Architects has been organizing it since 2017, and the annual editions have grown in size. Also involving the offices of the Order of Architects and large-scale collective events. The declared purpose is to introduce architecture to non-experts and explain the importance of those who create living places, both private and public. Each company had the option of participating in person, via live streaming, or by video, and could plan its own event. Architecture remains the main focus for those visiting Italy these days: the exhibition Torino Design City - Tangible Transitions is on until October 31st in Turin, and the exhibition "Vitality of Italian Architecture 1946-2026" at the MAXXI in Rome is open until November 15th.
