"If we consider the set of data relating to the two criminal offenses we are examining, that is, voluntary homicide and femicide (i.e. murders of women whose perpetrators are partners or ex-partners,editor's note), the first nine months of 2026 recorded a total of 230 victims, 67 of whom were female". Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi presented this figure, adding that in the same period in 2025, the total number of crimes was 238, with 77 of them involving women. As a result, the number of female homicide victims decreased by 13%. Regarding electronic bracelets, devices used in cases of men reported for violence, mistreatment, or stalking, the minister explains that more than 15,000 have already been activated for various purposes, with over 7,400—half—being for anti-stalking purposes, and that no requests have yet gone unanswered by judicial authorities.
