At the Rome Film Festival, Anthony Ippolito, the young Sylvester Stallone in Oscar winner Peter Farrelly's biopic "I Play Rocky" (2026), received the Progressive Lifetime Achievement Award from the festival's artistic director Paola Malanga. The award was established to encourage promising careers in the film industry, recognising talent that is still at an early stage but already shows considerable potential. A Roman evening honouring one of the most popular sagas in the Hollywood industry, illuminated by a rising star of American cinema: Ippolito, born in 1999 and of Italian origin, became known for his performances of George Wright in the series "Grand Army" (2020) and Al Pacino in the miniseries "The Offer" (2022). The film presented in the Grand Public section of the Rome Film Fest this year, in which he is the protagonist, tells the story of the renowned Sly, now 80, focusing in particular on his rise to fame in the 1970s through the production of "Rocky" (1976), which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
