Futuro Nazionale, the party founded by General Roberto Vannacci, has lost ground in recent opinion polls after a period of growth that brought it close to 10% of voting intentions. Surveys by several polling firms, including Noto and SWG, now put support for the party at around 7%, although figures vary between polls. The YouTrend/AGI polling average published on October 15 put the party at 7.2%, down half a percentage point from two weeks earlier. The figures point to a slowdown following the movement's initial expansion as it seeks to establish itself as a new political force on the Italian right. The decline should, however, be viewed in light of differences between individual surveys and changes in voting intentions over time. Polls measure respondents' preferences at a particular moment and do not predict the outcome of an election.
