The legal gaming business is once again one of the revenue sources in Italy's budget law for 2027. The most frequently mentioned figure in newspapers is roughly €700 million for next year. According to La Repubblica, the contribution will be €718 million in 2027 and 2028, and €478 million in 2029, totaling €1.914 billion. The funds would come from extending concessions due to expire and from the tender for the Gratta e Vinci scratch-card lottery. However, Il Messaggero points out that the mechanisms for concessionaires to guarantee this revenue have yet to be outlined. Democratic Party MP Stefano Vaccari opposes gambling-based fundraising, citing addiction and social costs. The key difficulty for the industry will be determining which actions will generate the projected revenue and which businesses they will affect.
