(14 August 2017) The Farnesina wished Ginaluigi Benedetti well via a tweet, who is now officially the new Italian Ambassador to Tel Aviv, appointed February 17th. From 2012 to 2015 he direted the Italian IHRA delegation the International Alliance for the Holocaust Memorial.

BENEDETTI’S CAREER

In 2014, Benedetti was appointed as the director of the campaign for the Italian Presidency’s term to the European Union for education, research, and space programme. During Italy’s Presidency of the G7, he directed the coordination and preparation of the G7 Turin Summit of Ministers for Science. As a Diplomatic Councillor, he promoted and directed various initatives such as “The Italian-Chinese Science, Technology, and Innovation Week”, the “National Award for Innovation”, the European programme “Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean (PRIMA)”. Furthermore, he organised several Italian academic representative missions in various countries such as China, Israel, Morocco, Argentina, and Brazil.
