Italian baroque music resounding in Ukraine

(September 18, 2017) The fourth Festival of Italian Baroque Music, entitled "Italia Festival Barocco", was inaugurated in Ukraine: a joint Italian-Ukrainian project devoted to the musical expressions of Italian baroque music organized by the Italian Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Ukraine, in collaboration with the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture. After the inaugural concert in Kiev, at the National Philharmonic of Ukraine, on Sunday, September 17 - which saw the presence of Alfredo Bernardini (oboe) as orchestra conductor and soloist - the kermesse program will wind up (up to October 3) all over Ukraine with a dozen musical events that will feature prominent Italian groups and soloists playing baroque instruments such as lute, tiorba, leg violet, cymbal and horn. Among them, the Venetian Archi dell'Arco Trio, the two ensemble La Venexiana, the Accademia Bizantina, the oboist and conductor Alfredo Bernardini, the organist Maurizio Salerno, the countertenor Raffaele Pe, the conductor and harpsichordist Ottavo Dantone.
