A tribute to Antonioni for the tenth anniversary of his death

(21 September, 2017) Michelangelo Antonioni’s cinema is featured in Stockholm. Ten years after his death (30 July, 2007 in Rome), the city of Stockholm pays a tribute to the great Italian film director - a Maestro admired in Italy and praised abroad - with screenings of his masterpieces. The retrospective dedicated to Antonioni (August 19th - September 30th) was organised by the Italian Institute of Culture of Stockholm in collaboration with Cineteca di Stoccolma (Filmhuset) where the films will be screened. This evening (18:00, Cinemateket, Filmhuset, Stockholm) will feature “L’Avventura” (The Adventure) (1960) starring Gabriele Ferzetti, Monica Vitti, Lea Massari, and Renzo Ricci. On Sunday, September 24th (16:00) will be “Il Grido” (The Cry) (1957) starring Gabriella Pallotta, Steve Cochran, Alida Valli, and Dorian Gray. (red)

FERRARA’S TRIBUTE

Antonioni was born on 29 September, 1912 in Ferrara. In 2012, for the 100th anniversary of his birth, his native town organised an intense calendar of public programmes ending with the exhibition titled “Michelangelo’s gaze. Antonioni and the arts” at Palazzo Dei Diamanti.
