Italian designer Roberto Paoli conquers California

(19 Jun) - The excellence of Italian design conquers the podium in California. The Italian designer Roberto Paoli, together with 17 years old Cristina Calva, has won the first place at California Dream Week, a competition of creativity and sustainable design reserved for high school students from Northern California. The Festival, dedicated to the respect for the environment and nature, has also been an opportunity for a generational confrontation between the brightest promises of creativity and some well-known Californian international personalities from the architecture world. So Roberto Paoli, already celebrated by foreign press as one of the ten most popular Italian designers in the world, is earned another award reinterpreting the idea of a circular frame house with a transparent roof conceived by the young Cristina, and turning it into a wood and glass table with 100% recyclable materials, hosting a clean burning fire . The object, a contemporary fireplace, is designed to be placed in meeting spot of the house and it summarizes everything that Cristina wanted to communicate: family and the attention of young people towards nature. THE SECOND EDITION OF CALIFORNIA DREAM WEEK
The 2nd edition of California Dream Week (CADW), a festival celebrating the creativity of California North State youth by renown international personalities from the world of architecture and design, was held in Chico from May 10th to 13rd, 2012. The 4 day festival is the culmination of a sustainability design competition in which high school juniors and seniors competed to win higher education scholarships for their future and cash funds for their high schools. The winning ideas are graphically celebrated by international architects and designers in a series of large artistic posters revealed for the festival in various Chico Downtown stores.
