Nov. 12 - After the success of 2012, which saw over 17,000 visitors and more than 2,000 participants in workshops, performances, installations, films and seminars, Reciclamadrid reopened this year. And until Nov 17 it will celebrate, in Madrid, its fifth year of production with the theme "El arte derriba barreras," art breaks down barriers. At the event, created to raise awareness on recycling and creative re-use, Italy participates with many exhibitors from various regions. In addition, it collaborated in the organization of the event through the Italian Embassy in Madrid , Riscarti Fest Rome and Remmade in Puglia, with patrons such as the City of Bitonto, the Puglia Association for biologists and environmentalists, the Minerva Science of Matera and Ispra TV Italy. This edition of Reciclamadrid takes place in the heart of the city, at the Centro internacional de arte de vanguardia la neomudejar de Atocha.

ITALY IS HOSTING
This year, Italy was invited by Reciclamadrid to host a discussion on creative recycling through artistic and technical innovation. The debate will see the participation of Riscarti, the Roman festival that promotes a ‘green’ message applied to all aspects of life, including art, through environmental education. "The festival’s intent – explain the creators – is to reshape the idea of unnecessary surplus. The re-use of excess and waste, repurposing materials and thoughts in time."
The other partner is the Remmade association, which was created to allow the participation of a young group of people to the Regional Contest "Active Ingredients - Young Ideas for a better Puglia," a project on the protection and enhancement of the area. The goal is to initiate a trial-run of new forms of "happening," promote projects and prototypes developed by the working group and simultaneously reach, educate and involve the largest possible number of actors in a "recycling society" through everyday objects, adopting the artistic philosophy of "ready made."
