Italy’s

Jan. 14 - Spain, France, Germany, USA, Portugal, Turkey, Morocco, Argentina, Peru, Venezuela, Belgium, and Canada are just some of the 24 countries in which the original " You've Got Mail " format has been sold. Rhe Lucky Channel 5 program, written, created and hosted by Maria de Filippi, Saturday night premiered on the Mediaset network its seventeenth season. In terms of audience, it turned out to be success: a 24.38 % share of 5,5 million viewers. Considered one of the most beloved programs in Italian television, "You've Got Mail" was born in 1999 from an idea of De Filippi and screenwriter and television writer Alberto Silvestri. The program is closely followed by the public in Italy but it is also much appreciated abroad. The intuition behind the program is simple: make a TV program that facilitates relationships between people, a program that allows them to overcome obstacles and geographic, emotional and life barriers. Everything begins with a letter - hence the title of the program - which a sender writes to a recipient: generally it is ordinary people who want to recover lost links, find love or friendship or clarify outstanding issues. The recipients are notified of the appeal by the "Postini" and are then invited to the studio. The recipient then discovers who the sender is and has the ability to hear or not hear the message. "You've got mail" focuses on stories of reunions and impossible loves, distant ones and those that have just finished. The tears are always present, but there is also laughter, guests, music and surprises. There are many showbiz personalities ready to get in the game for a special occasion. Often, senders choose to give a moment dream to a dear person: the encounter with a favorite movie star, singer or player. Maria de Filippi establishes an empathy with the attentive audience that listens to the story and follows its evolution, in the hope that the metaphorical "wall" of distance - represented in the studio by a large envelope - opens to allow the two protagonists to meet and hug again in a beautiful happy ending. The novelty of this season is that the walls can be more than one. "The television season for Channel 5 was officially kicked off, and the undisputed queen of Saturday night, Maria De Filippi, has again crushed the competition - said an enthusiastic Giancarlo Scheri, director of Channel 5 - You've got mail has had peaks of 36% of the share, with almost 7 million people watching. Yet another demonstration of Maria’s talent, great author and presenter."
