The Pinacoteca Comunale Casa Rusca in Locarno will host a large retrospective dedicated to Sandro Chia from September 9th to January 6th 2019. Chia is one of the most significant interpreters of contemporary artistic culture, whose practice is renowned and appreciated all over the world. The exhibition is a unique opportunity to admire, for the first time in Switzerland, a careful selection of over 50 large-format paintings, from 1978 to his most recent works, by one of the absolute key figures of the Transavanguardia. The exhibition is accompanied by a catalog with colour reproductions of all the exhibited works.The artist will be present at the inauguration on Saturday, September 8th at 17:00. Chia's works have been showcased in prestigious exhibitions in some of the world's major museums.He currently lives and works in Miami, Rome, and Montalcino, where, in the Castello Romitorio - which he owns - he also produces fine wines including the renowned Brunello.
