Italian language taught in two new High Schools

The action plan carried out by the Italian Embassy in Santiago de Chile for teaching Italian in Chilean public schools continues. Starting this month, our language and culture will be taught at the Liceo República de Italia of Isla de Maipo and in the Liceo Experimental Artístico of Santiago - two important schools of the Metropolitan Region of the Chilean capital. With the addition of these two institutions to those already present in Lumaco, Chillán and Penco, the number of Chilean public schools that have Italian language in their curricula increases. The project to increase Italian language in public schools' curricula, based on the Italian Embassy and its Education Director's impulse, also takes advantage of the collaboration between Comites Chile (Committee for Italians Abroad) and of the Company Dante Alighieri of Santiago The offer of Italian language teaching in Chile continues to branch out. It's already been implemented in various areas: the "Vittorio Montiglio" private schools in Santiago and the "Arturo dell'Oro" in Valparaíso and Viña del Mar, in the Liceo Insieme and in the Liceo Italia of Santiago, and in the Italian schools of La Serena, Copiapó and Concepción. Italian courses will be added in different universities as well as courses organised by the Italian Institute of Culture and the local committee of Dante Alighieri.
