Meeting with the Italian<br>scientists of Nasa/Jpl

(11 September 2018) The round table will be held on Thursday September 13th at the Italian Institute of Culture in Los Angeles with Italian scientists working at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. It will be introduced and moderated by Dr. Cinzia Zuffada, Associate Chief Scientist at JPL.  Sara Susca, Michele Vallisneri and Marco Velli and are among the participants. Jeff Capaccio will be present as a representative of SVIEC (Silicon Valley Italian Executive Council), our partner in Northern California. Susca graduated from the Polytechnic of Milan in aerospace engineering and obtained her PhD in electronic engineering at UC Santa Barbara.  She has worked at JPL since 2011 where she is involved in several projects including Boston Dynamics Big Dog, the Phaeton Project STABLE, and the Europa Clipper mission. Vallisneri received his PhD in astrophysics at the California Institute of Technology.  He has worked at JPL, since 2005 in the international LISA project on the detection of gravitational waves. Velli obtained a PhD in Physics from the University of Pisa and the Scuola Normale Superiore.  He teaches Space Physics at UCLA and also works at NASA / Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
