The modernity of Giacomo Puccini,<br>conference at the IIC

(13 September 2018) The conference "The Modernity of Giacomo Puccini" by Beatrice Venezi, will be held on Wednesday, September 19th at 18:30 at the Italian Institute of Culture in Tokyo. "An extremely modern man, who understood the importance of approaching his public and the cult of his image (well before the advent of Facebook and Instagram!) and therefore is portrayed in video, perhaps he was the first, during private moments - says Venezi about Puccini. He was a curious and eclectic man, interested in other arts, especially visual arts which greatly influenced him. He was a man of his time who enjoyed life à la page, beautiful women, fast cars, cigars, and tailored suits, so much so that he became a sort of ante litteram testimonial of Borsalino and Tuscan cigars, to whom he lends his own image becoming immortalised in what today's creatives would define branded contents ". Beatrice Venezi is an orchestra director, pianist, and composer. He made his debut as a conductor of symphonic music in 2012 and has directed collaborations such as the Orchestra dei Pomeriggi Musicali of Milan, the Orchestra and the choir of the Bolshoij Theatre of Minsk and the Odessa National Philharmonic Orchestra.
