(14 September 2018) Italy was the protagonist of the two-day "Bürgerfest" (People's Day, Open Day) offered by the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Steinmeier on September 7th and 8th at Bellevue Castle. As a Partner Country 2018, Italy was present in an entire "Viale Italia", where stands of different participants of the Italian contingency met: institutions (Embassy / Institute of Culture); Italian sponsors (Generali Assicurazioni Germany, which presented its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility, and ENIT National Tourism Agency, which focused in particular on the promotion of the South and Matera 2019); Italian gastronomy (Associazione Pizza Verace Napoletana (Genuine Neopolitan Pizza Association), Italian food network in Berlin, 'True Italian') and two Italian volunteer and civic engagement associations (Community of Sant'Egidio, Libera / Libera Terra). The area dedicated to children consisted of the managing body Bocconcini di Cultura e.V, who ran a workshop of games and manual activities, and the Association of Italian ice cream masters in Germany, Uniteis.
