Italian art at The National Gallery

(14 September 2018) The National Gallery of Art (NGA) in Washington presented their exhibition programme for 2018-2019 during a press conference. This is an exceptional season for Italian art in the US capital.  In fact, more than ten exhibitions on Italian artists and art have been organised by the prestigious American museum in collaboration with major Italian museums and cultural institutions. The Italian Ambassador in the USA, Armando Varricchio, spoke in public (including more than 70 Italian and international journalists) presenting five exhibitions that have already been decided. In particular, three exhibitions on Jacopo Tintoretto (1518 / 1519-1594) for the occasion of the 500th anniversary of his birth. The first, "Tintoretto: artist of Renaissance Venice", in collaboration with the Venice Civic Museums Foundation, and the Galleries of the Venice Academy has already opened to the public at the Palazzo Ducale in Venice and will arrive at the NGA in March 2019.
