Rome's status as a meeting place for the international audiovisual industry grows stronger. The twelfth edition of the MIA, or International Audiovisual Market, drew cinema, television, and digital content experts from all over the world to the city. The 2026 edition had over 630 project applications from 83 nations, representing a 26% increase over the previous year. 104 projects from 43 nations were chosen for the market's professional initiatives. The program is centered on international co-productions, financial options, and innovative business models for audiovisual dissemination. For American studios, streaming platforms, and independent producers, Rome offers a potential door to European collaborators, creative skills, and high-value locations. Italy's goal is to strengthen its cinematic history while attracting international investment and production. The MIA thus reaffirms its commitment to transforming Italy's cultural heritage into a competitive resource for the modern creative economy.
