Italy’s summer tourism season closed on a high note, propelled by an influx of international travelers and stabilizing prices across lodging, dining, and transit. According to new data from Isnart and Unioncamere, foreign visitors accounted for 56% of total tourism - totaling 18.5 million travelers - and helped drive overall visitor numbers up 1.8% compared to last year. With inflationary pressures cooling off, tourists increasingly prioritized high-quality, experience-driven travel. Cultural attractions led the charge as the primary draw for 37.9% of visitors, followed by natural scenery at 23.7%. Over 70% of travelers engaged in local excursions, highlighting a strong demand for immersive cultural and culinary experiences.
