A judge in Milan has refused to validate the detention of Youssef Siher, the 30-year-old alleged administrator of online channels for the "October 17 Movement," ordering his immediate release. Prosecutors had requested pre-trial custody in prison, citing terrorism-related charges and arguing Siher posed a flight risk following recent violent demonstrations in Milan. However, Judge Tiziana Landoni ruled that Siher's actions amounted only to organizing political protests against government policies via Telegram. The judge noted that his posts contained no calls to violence nor any reference to the October 17–18 riots. Defense attorneys welcomed the decision, maintaining that Siher was merely exercising his constitutionally protected right to free expression.
