Civitan International launches the Italian website

December 16th, 2015 - The international organization of Service Club, Civitan International, founded in 1917 in the United States and internationally active with Rotary clubs around the world, launched today the official site in Italian: www.civitan.it. Civitan International has been present in Italy since 2012. Its headquarters, in Birmingham, Alabama, represent an international organization of service clubs for the community. Established in 1917, the organization aims to "build good citizens", with particular attention to the care of people with "developmental disabilities". Active members of Civitan International were Thomas A. Edison, Franklin D. Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy and Harry Truman. "The site in Italian - said Carmelo Cutuli, Secretary General since 2012 for Italy - is part of the communication initiatives that we are launching to further spread our organization and its activities in this country. In the United States, Civitan International, for nearly a century, has been present at the local level and is officially recognized as the fourth most important American service organization." CIVITAN IN ITALY

The Italian Civitan Clubs belong to the District of "Europe at large" and are associated with the European Division of Civitan International, whose head office is located in Norway. Civitan International has been present in Italy since 2012, when the Board of Directors appointed the secretary general for Italy handed the Charter the first Italian Club. The Secretary-General for Italy is Carmelo Cutuli, a professional in communication and Public Relations. The Secretary-General has been entrusted with the development of the national network of clubs in the territory.
