Czech Republic: two Italian artists at the Biennial Guitar Competition

(June 28, 2017) There will also be two Italian artists at the XIX edition of the International Biennial Guitar Competition which will be held in Kutná Hora, Czech Republic, from July 4 to 8. The Italian Institute of Culture of Prague announce it, supporting them participation. Andrea De Vitis will perform at the opening night, Tuesday, July 4 at 6 pm, in the Italian Court (Vlašský dvůr). He will also hold a masterclass during the Biennial. Stefano Viola, guitar teacher at the Conservatory of Music "Jacopo Tomadini" in Udine will hold a masterclass as well. De Vitis graduated with the highest grades at the Conservatory "Morlacchi" in Perugia and at "Segovia Guitar Academy" in Pordenone. He has won numerous awards in international competitions and has performed as a soloist at prestigious concert halls around the world. Viola performs concert in Italy and abroad as soloist and in chamber music formations, his teaching activity is very intense. Both Viola and De Vitis will be members of the jury of the International Biennial. (Red)

The Italian Institute of Culture in Prague is working, in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Prague, for the promotion of cultural relations and exchanges between Italy and the Czech Republic and the spread of Italian culture and language in Czech territory. The Institute works on bilateral relations, in accordance with the general guidelines of the Cultural Agreement signed in 1971, to which the Executive Programs of the Cultural Agreement (the one currently in force are valid for the Quadriennium 1998-2001). Between Italy and the Czech Republic was signed in 1990 a Scientific and Technical Cooperation Agreement, implemented through four-year Executive Programs.
