(7 September, 2017) Summer 2017 will be remembered for the next decade as one of the happiest years. It was a real boom according to the numbers. According to a survey conducted by the Centro Studi Turistici, on behalf of Confesercenti-Assoturismo, overall, this summer saw an increase of more than 7.6 million overnight stays (+ 3.7%) and over 1.9 million arrivals (+ 4.1%). "All the indicators - said Vittorio Messina, President Assoturismo Confesercenti - confirm that tourism in Italy is experiencing a favourable moment." Forecasts remain positive for the next few years with prospects for expansion in the medium-term: considering the added value that tourism is already generating for the whole economy, it is clear that this sector must be increasingly targeted to ensure Italy's economic recovery. Meanwhile, promotional activities continue. Italy, with all its beauty, is now preparing to be featured in Switzerland: the Geneva Chamber of Commerce is organises, in fact, the second edition of "Go-Italy Tourism". The salon dedicated to promoting tourism is scheduled for Tuesday September 12th (starting at 17:30) at the Hôtel Richemond in Geneva. For the occasion, Italian professionals in the sector (consortia, incoming agencies, hotels, agencies) coming from all over Italy will be present at the Geneva market. (Red)
