(2 August 2018) The film "La strada dei Samouni" by Stefano Savona, with animations by Simone Massi, will compete in the preselection of the Oscars thanks to the award for Best Documentary received at Cannes. L'Oeil d'or, awarded every year since 2015 in Cannes among all the categories of the festival, has in fact been included in the official list of prizes suitable for Academy Awards preselection. It is the first and only French award recognised by the Academy. Produced by Picofilms, Dugong Films with Rai Cinema, Alter Ego Production, in co-production with ARTE France Cinéma, ARTE France, Société et Culture, "La strada dei Samouni", with the support of the Trentino Film Commission, will be released in Italian cinemas next season with the distribution of the Bologna Film Library.
