(27 September 2018) The "IV de Intercambio de Experiencias em Administracao Aduaneira" (IV Workshop of Interchange of Experiences in Customs Administration) took place in recent days in Brasilia at Esaf, Escola de Administração Fazendaria. The three-day workshop saw the participation of the highest levels of the Ministry of Fazenda, numerous representatives of the tax and customs sectors of the Brazilian States as well as of the tax and customs officers of the accredited countries. The transnational nature of organised crime requires an increasingly coordinated and joint effort between the Administrations belonging to the various countries concerned. Colonel Francesco Fallica, economic-financial expert at the Italian Embassy in Brasilia, held a conference on organised crime and money laundering in the sector. The programmed represented the operative modalities of the Guardia di Finanza and the characteristics of a 360 degree Economic-Financial Police. In particular, the highly qualified audience was particularly interested in the activities carried out by the Guardia di Finanza in the treatment of illicit financial flows.
