The Tuscan Museum <br> network at the IIC

(25 October 2018) Tonight the director of the Tuscan Museum Complex, Stefano Casciu, upon the invitation of the Italian Institute of Culture in Lisbon will speak at the National Museum of Ancient Art at the conference "The Museums of Tuscany gathered in the Museum Pole: an absolute Italian excellence". The Tuscan Museum Network manages, protects, and spreads appreciation of 49 state-owned cultural sites, some of which are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. A rich cultural heritage, located in the provinces of Florence, Siena, Arezzo, Lucca, Pisa, Pistoia, Prato, Livorno, and Grosseto. Art galleries, archaeological museums, Last Suppers, Medici villas, fortresses, and religious buildings testify to Tuscany's long history: from the ancient Etruscan and Roman settlements to the extensive visual arts legacy that characterised Tuscan and Italian artistic productions from the Middle Ages to the nineteenth century.  The presentation of the Tuscan Museum Network is part of the internationalisation process of the Italian museum system and the exchange of information and experiences with local museum counterparts, included in the extraordinary integrated advertisement campaign "Italian living", developed by various Ministries (Foreign, Miur, Mibac and Mise) to revive Italian culture and economy abroad.
