Ulan Bator - A charity rally with no ranking, no awards and without a predetermined path. Established for humanitarian purposes in 2004 with only 6 cars enrolled, the Mongolian Rally has soared in recent years all over the world. Over 300 vehicles will participate this year, including a Fiat Panda driven by three young men from Basilicata: Pietro Grassi, Francesco Lence and Emiliano Ragone known as the "3 Men & A Panda Team". The official departure is scheduled on Sunday July 20 from London and the rules are: no use of GPS, maximum volume for cars is 1200 and 125 for motorcycles. At the end of the race, the vehicles will be sold for charity. The initiative is sponsored by the Basilicata Region, the Municipality of Matera and the City and Province of Potenza. Also collaborating in this venture is the association Prima Persona through the #BasilicataMeravigliosa project. The rally will highlight Basilicata beyond its borders. The arrival in Ulan Bator, capital of Mongolia, is scheduled for August 26. (9Colonne)
