Juba - Between last Sunday and Monday, thousands of frightened people sought refuge at the Salesian mission of Gumbo , 8 km from the center of Juba , in South Sudan, because of the resumption of armed clashes. Currently the mission welcomes a huge number of people : between 5,000 and 8,000 by day , that increase at night because many of them come back only to sleep. They need everything : food, water , basic necessities . In Gumbo explosions and gunfire were heard clearly , especially on Monday afternoon and evening - even after both sides called a cease-fire.
