(September 22, 2016) Tradition and taste, aroma and nature: this is Birra Morena "Gran Riserva Lucana". This beer will represent Italy to the finals of the World Beer Awards, the most prestigious competitions in the world in beer sector. The countdown has in fact started for the prestigious awards: in "barley wine" category, after passing a series of selections, Birra Morena "Gran Riserva Lucana" will represent Italy in the world grand finale that will be held tomorrow - September 23 - in London. At the 2016 edition 1,500 beers took the contest, divided into various categories, representing thirty countries. In the category "barley wine" only six finalists labels: the Canadian Microbrasserie Pit Caribou, the Japanese Hyokoyashikinomori Brewery, the Portuguese Maldita, the English Harvey's, the US Reel Ales and of course the "Gran Riserva Lucana", first among the Italian beers in competition. But it is not the first award for the Lucan brewery: "We are pleased for the recognition we have achieved so far with the Celtic Stout, in the category Sweet Milk Stout, gold medal in the competition between the Italian beers, and Gran Riserva Lucana as global finalist . Two beers - say the owners of the Brewery Morena - on which we have invested in terms of innovation and production process. We are aiming in particular to the production of high quality beers that have been positively appreciated even from across the border in large competitive markets such as China, England, France and Germany. PROFILE / THE PRODUCT AND ITS HISTORY
Birra Morena "Gran Riserva Lucana", the result of years of research, world-unique beer, with an alcohol content by volume of fourteen degrees, with alcohol derived from natural fermentation with the method of high fermentation. The important alcohol content, the choice of raw materials, special production process and the unmistakable taste certainly stands out from the other beers in the race. It’s produced in Balvano, in the province of Potenza, in a facility built in the early ‘80s and bought by the Tarricone family from Heineken, after being owned by Prinz Brau, Birra Moretti, the Labatt Group and Interbrau.
