(August 4, 2017) There’s a space entirely dedicated to Basilicata at Expo2017, ongoing in Astana, Kazakhstan. The event, inaugurated in June, will end in September 2017. Future energy is the theme chosen by the organizers for this edition of the international exhibition, which includes 100 countries around the world. At the heart of the initiative program, responsible and efficient energy production in the near future and the relationship with the environment, with particular reference to renewable energies. The Pavilion of Basilicata will be inaugurated on August 6, with the greetings of Stefano Ravagnan, Ambassador of Italy in Kazakhstan, Carmen Santoro, General Director of the Department of Environment and Energy of the Basilicata Region, Gerardo Travaglio, Head of Cabinet of the Presidency of the Region and Antonio Baldassarre, director Agip Karachaganak. In the event, the exhibition "A Trip to Basilicata" will be inaugurated, including watercolors signed by Fabrice Moireau. On display a collection of drawings that the Basilicata tourist promotion company has chosen to represent the identity of Basilicata in Italy and around the world. The watercolors were made by Moireau during his trip to Basilicata and are accompanied by words from Belgian journalist Carl Norac. Until August 12, several meetings have been held under the title "Energy of Basilicata" in its Pavilion. (Red)

The first meeting is on Monday, August 7. The themes will be bioclimatic architecture and Matera2019. After the institutional greetings, Gianluca Rospi and Agnese Bonomo, of the University of Basilicata, will address the climatic aspects of the houses in the Sassi of Matera and the geological aspects of Gravina. Immediately afterwards, Giuseppe Romaniello, administrator of the Fondazione Matera-Basilicata2019 will announce the tender for the sponsors of Matera2019. On Tuesday, August 8, again in the pavilion of Basilicata, will be held the workshop "The energy of the future realized in Basilicata". Among others, Donatella Barisano, Enea, Francesco Ferraro, Unibas, Nadir Abylay, Kazakh - British Technical University, Mariapia Faruolo and Simona Loperte, Cnr, and Elisabetta Fortunato of the Eni Enrico Mattei Foundation (Feem) will attend. On Wednesday, August 9, a laboratory will be held on the development of sustainable energy with a focus on the mobility experience realized by "Il cielo di Indra". While Thursday, August 10, a meeting will be held on the topics of technological innovation in the field of energy, to which the Vice-President of the Regional Council Flavia Franconi will participate. Giuliano Sarrichio, Basilicata Energy Society, Gaetano Torchia and Marco Ponzio, of Basilicata Development, will present some of the best practices in the region. On Friday, August 11, the Regional Agriculture Department in collaboration with the Feem will present "Basilicata, another dimension. Food for Life" with the display of 8 panels made with 3D photography about rural Basilicata. Michele Brucoli of the Department of Agriculture and Francesco Forte of Feem will address the audience. The last day of the program of initiatives realized in the Pavilion of Basilicata, on August 12, will be dedicated to cinema and tourism with the participation of Lucana Film Commission. On Saturday, August 12, Patrizia Minardi, director of the Regional Office for Cultural and Tourist Systems, and Michelangelo Messina, of the Tourism Office will address the audience. Under the circumstance, will be screened "Basilicata: more than a movie" by Gal Bradanica.
