(29 August 2017) Five years after Lucio Dalla's death, the tributes to one of the most significant voices of Italian music by the consular diplomatic network continue. The Italian Institute of Culture of Lyon will host the screening of "Caro Lucio ti scrivo", a film of Riccardo Marchesini (original Italian version) on September 11th (Goethe Loft, 18 rue François Dauphin) based on the show lead by Cristiano Governa with songs by Lucio Dalla and Ambra Angiolini, Alessandro Benvenuti, Piera degli Esposti, Neri Marcorè, Ottavia Piccolo, Andrea Roncato, and Grazia Verasani. The director Marchesini will be present at the movie showing. The docu-fiction "Caro Lucio ti scrivo" intends to change the perspective and the angle around the narrative of a legendary artist like Dalla. In fact, the life of the Bolognese songwriter is not told through interviews or contributions from friends, collaborators, and colleagues, but instead takes us on a journey that is constantly in balance between fantasy and reality.   (Red)

THE ORIGINS OF THE FILM

"Caro Lucio ti Scrivo' was first established as a theatrical piece, which teaches one to use their imagination, a bit like his songs" explains Marchesini. "The spectacle was an important exercise of fantasy. Rehearsals after rehearsals, replicas after replication, I began to imagine more and more what could not be seen in the theatre, and to give a face to the authors of the letters, the protagonists of the songs, and to imagine places and situations that Dalla sang about. That's when I started imagining a movie and inevitably, I developed the desire to share it with others. It has been a challenging task that has led to the creation of something unusual, and that is not easy to classify".
