Cinema. Film festival of Nice

After the opening in San Francisco, the Nice Film Festival will take place in New York from November 14th to the 17th. The Italian Institute of Culture and the Italian House Zerilli-Marimò of New York University are hosting three film screenings and a special cultural event to celebrate the 27th edition of the festival in the United States. The first part will take place at Casa Italiana with the screening of "Franca: Caos e Creazione" (Franca: Chaos and Creation) by Francesco Carrozzini on Tuesday, November 14th (18:00). The documentary is a tribute to Carrozzini and his mother Franca Sozzani followed by a Q & A session with director and journalist Grazia D'Annunzio. On November 15th, the Italian Institute of Culture on the Upper East Side will screen Nicolas Carreras's film "The Duel of Wine" (18:00). It is a comedy about the two sommeliers Charlie Arturaola and Luca Gardini, that takes the audience on a satirical journey through the world of wine tasting. On Thursday November 16th, Nice will return to Casa Italiana for a masterclass called "La Mente dietro la Casa delle Carte - Una Conversazione con Frank Pugliese" (The mind behind the House of Cards - A Conversation with Frank Pugliese) (18.30). The final screening will also take place at Casa Italiana on Friday (18:00), and Salvatore Allocca's "Taranta sulla strada" (Taranta on the Road) will be shown in the USA for the first time. Following the Q & A with Alloca, screenwriter Amara Lakhous and the Director of Casa Italiana Stefano Albertini, the film tells the story of two Tunisian migrants in Puglia who unite on an unexpected trip with a Taranta band.
