(3 September 2018) The first complete translation of the collection of poems "... And so on ..." by the famous Russian poet Boris Ryžij (St. Petersburg, Puškinskij Fond, 2000) will be presented on Monday, September 10th at 19:00 at the Italian Institute of Culture in Moscow. The metric translation into Italian (Rovigo, Il Ponte del Sale, 2018) is the result of complex and articulated work which the translator, Laura Salmon will talk about. Together with Professor Salmon, Irina Knjazeva, widow of Boris Ryžij, will be present, with whom he shared his most creative years. Salmon will talk about the Boris Ryžij myth/cult and his innovative poetics. At the end of the evening there will be a reading of a selection of his poems in Russian and Italian. Laura Salmon is a PhD student in Slavic Studies (University of Rome "La Sapienza"), literary translator, and a full professor of Russian Language and Literature and of Translation Theory at the University of Genoa, Department of Languages and Modern Cultures. She has translated works by L. Tolstoj, F. Dostoevskij, I. Turgenev, the entire narrative production of S. Dovlatov into Italian, among others. She has also translated Boris Ryžij's cult collection of "... And so on ..." in metric verses. She has won three prizes in literary translation: Monselice 2009, Russia-Italy "Lev Tolstoy 2010" (for Anna Karenina), and the Gorky Award 2017.
