(17 September 2018) The Italian Film Festival in Brazil is the largest event organised by the Italian-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce of São Paulo since 2005, for the promotion of Italian cinema consisting of the screening of classical works and 16 contemporary films made between 2017 and 2018. Today until September 21st, the Festival will dedicate a Retrospective on Sophia Loren at the MIS - Museu da Imagem e do Som in São Paulo. On the 24th of September,  the film Diminuta, an Italian-Brazilian co-production will be screened in the presence of the director and lead actors. The official opening of the 13th edition of the Festival will be on the 25th of September in the Auditório of Ibirapuera in São Paulo, with the screening of the great Italian success "Come un gatto in tangenziale" (Like a Cat on the Highway).  As every year, Italian directors, actors, and actresses will be present. From 27th of September to 3rd of October, the Italian Contemporary Film Festival will take place in the cinemas of Reserva Cultural and Caixa Belas Artes. To conclude the Festival in style, on October 5th the film elected by the public will be awarded - location to be confirmed.
